Throw out the vision board

“Whaaat?! But I love my vision board!”

I know me too but after the digital detox month, I will do the vision board detox month because I’m curious to see what will happen when I don’t have a strict idea of how my life should look like and focus on how I’d like to feel instead.

A few weeks ago, I realized that our subconscious mind often (if not always) has a hidden agenda behind the things we ‘want’ or ‘want to achieve’. Even though they might come from a heart desire at the same time (I am still working on an entire blogpost about just that topic because it’s fascinating!).

For example, for a while, I had a photo of a beautiful house overlooking the Pacific Ocean as a desktop background. It was representing what I wanted to get in the long run: a house overlooking the ocean. You might have the same on your vision board because who wouldn’t want a house with a view ?!

Indeed! But I was putting sooooo much pressure on myself to get to that dream by trying to figure out how to get there already yesterday, in ways that I thought ‘should’ get me there - that were not aligned with my values at all. And it was during a Theta-Healing session with Nicole that I finally realized the hidden agenda of my subconscious behind those photos (an idea of success that was not mine and the need to prove myself, among other things), that was not serving me.

The next day, my coach saw the picture of the house on my desktop and said : '“it doesn’t feel good at all, it feels actually very constrictive!” because she could feel the hidden agendas of my subconscious behind this photo. I still kept it as a desktop background for a few more weeks without the attachment though.

And today I wanted to go even further by deleting it altogether with the words of my Coach echoing in my ears (well the Swiss -German version of that): “you have no idea what the Universe has in store for you and by having that strict idea of your future, you are limiting yourself!”

I’m not saying that vision boards and goals are bad. Not at all! They are fun, when we can set them or pin them and let them go at the same time (manifesting 101). When we can enjoy the present moment and the journey that will get us ‘there’ as much as ‘getting there’.

I could have never figured out my subconscious’ hidden agenda behind my wants by myself. I needed space holders like my Coach and my Theta-healer to feel and see clearly.

So if you too, are curious about what is behind the wants on your vision board, I’d be happy to hold space for you so that you can decide if you want to keep it or throw it out (or put it behind the cupboard for a while at least ;)

More info on the 1:1 coaching sessions I offer here. And because I think this kind of work is so important, if you want to work on this specific topic and mention this blogpost you get 1h30 for free instead of the usual 30min!

And I will leave you with this question: how would you like to feel?
